Secrets. The secrets of blogs and Internet marketing. So few people know them, but those that unlock the mysterious code absolutely rake in money. We’re talking literally. As in they could pour their cash on their front lawn, grab one of those floppy green rakes from Home Depot and just pull those $20s, $50s, and $100s to their feet. One of the secrets to blogging is thinking bigger than 1. You’ve heard there’s powers in numbers, right? Well that holds true with blogging and money to. In this 1,600 word mammoth of an article, I’m going to unveil some not so well known secrets to exploding your blog up in Google and making some nice income along the way.
One way to explode your power is by incorporating Hubpages with your blog. This one technique is basically a 2.6:1 return on your time and money. Ok so first you need a blog. If you don’t have a blog yet, get with the damn program! A blog requires a domain name and web hosting. That’s it. After you have those 2, you can have a blog. Read my posts on how to start a blog for free and how to start a professional blog for more information.
BTW, if you found this blog post trying to find out is Hubpages a scam or not, let me emphatically tell you Hubpages is anything but a scam. Hubpages being a nice money maker for you and for your blog residually is the reason I wrote this post. Hubpages can not only be used to improve your search engine ranking and get you on page 1 of Google, but it can also be used to make you extra money while you move your blog up in the search engines. Continue reading and find out how.
Once you have a blog, start writing on it. I don’t care what it’s about – weaving, crochet, greeting cards, party favors, tennis racquets, lcd tvs, apple iphones, leather couches, dog toys, siberian paper coats, bamboo flooring, contact lense solution, antique grandfather clocks – it doesn’t really matter as long as it’s something people can buy. This is one huge secret to blogging that most people F up on. It’s going to be a lot easier to succeed early on with products than it is on news. Why? News doesn’t really have a product to sell. Yeah, you can buy subscriptions or memberships but mostly info on the web is free.
Start a blog about something – anything that people can and will buy. Software is fine. Certain insider information is even fine. But there needs to be a market and willing buyers. For example, I listened to a podcast about a fired art instructor that sold art class videos and made a ton of money. This wasn’t a product and it sold big but at the same time, you don’t see any first class, cohesive art class instructions sitting out there on YouTube, Break, MetaCafe, Google Video, Yahoo Video, or anywhere else for free. This is why the washed up teacher succeeded – he sold in an uncrowded market where there was a need online. BINGO – BLAMO. Money in the fcking bank!
On the other hand, you’ve had uber successful news sites like Perez Hilton and Sports By Brooks (who got bought by FoxSports). So why am I telling you to run away from news sites? Because it’s extremely hard to succeed and even if you do, it will take longer to get there. You can make money with anything on the web, but somethings are harder than others and we all want to find the easy way right? I don’t know about you but I like the idea of being in a hammock on the beach sooner than later. I also don’t want to be tied down to a blog.
Products sell now. News sells advertising – eventually. Get the picture? Everyone always says you can blog about whatever and make money. This is true, but somethings are a hell of a lot easier than others and make a ton more money. I know someone that’s been blogging about forever on football and the Adsense CTR and earnings are pitiful. People are coming to his blog to read – not to buy. Learn the distinction and don’t make the same blogging mistakes.
Back to how to use and abuse Hubpages to make large chunks of money and multiply your potential at least 2.6 x 1. Here’s the exact formula I want you to use.
First, start by writing 2 blogs with 10 blog posts of at least 600 words apiece. Make sure the blogs are about things that people buy and not information (like sports information – who will win the world cup, who is the best basketball player, etc. for example). After step 1, you should have 2 blogs on 2 different domains. For example, coolweddingfavors.com and bestmailpackaging.com. These should both have 10 blogs with at least 600 words each apiece. As a super, super important tip, add 9 tags apiece to each blogpost.
What do blog tags do? Blog tags basically add another page and title that your blog post can be found under. So for every blog you’re creating, you make it 9x more powerful because that many separate pages are created. I’ve had a lot of very successful and high trafficked tag pages – and this is over the original article in the search engine rankings! Tags need to describe your post and not be deceptive. For example, Tags for this blog post would be making money with hubpages and your blog, blogging with hubpages, how to make money with hubpages, hubpages make money, hubpages can make you money, how to make money with hubpages, powerful blogging, make more money with your blog, making hubpages money, etc.
What you want to do with tags is use up all those awkwardly worded searches that get searched but you really can’t title your blogposts or didn’t get to title your post. After all, you only get 1 title. I’ve found that dynamic, unique, interesting titles like the one you see above really interest people if they just see it on Twitter or on another social bookmarking site so I like to use them.
So anyways, now you have your blogs. The next step is to sign up at Hubpages. Now create hubs. Why should I start writing for Hubpages you ask? Well for one, they pay you money. Money is good. Money goes in your pocket and helps you buy things. So money is always good.
Another advantage to Hubpages is you can hit them up for 2 links an article. These will be 2 do-follow links per article so long as you write good articles – which it’s in your best interest to. Do follow links are ones that count in the search engine rankings and pass authority to your site. Compare these to No follow links which do not pass authority points. Google sees a link to your site as saying, hey move this bitch up in the search engine because someone just said it’s a good reference. The more links, the merrier. You move up and you make bank. It’s not just that simple, but it almost is. For now, just know that.
Continuing, Hubpages allows you to whore them out for two dofollow links an article. The catch is they want you to write good articles for them so they can make money too. So in return, the next part of the Hubpages money making formula is to write 10 600 word articles for Hubpages. In these articles, I want you to link to not only your site homepage but also the articles within your site. Use anchor keyword text towards what you want to be found under in searches. For example, I want BlogHQ.com to be found for all sorts of keywords such as blogging for beginners, how to make money blogging, learning about blogging, blogging for idiots, how to start a blog, how to make a successful blog, can i make money blogging and so on. Because I want to do this, I will link to BlogHQ.com under these keywords to help move my blog up in the search engines – Bing, Yahoo, and Google. An example of a keyword anchor text linked to your website would be learn how to start a blog.
I only really worry about ranking high in Google because it gets about 85% or more of my traffic for me. Bing and Yahoo are nice bonuses and can rake in some decent income for you but we’re going for the golden egg that is Big G. I’ve found that if you rank well in Google and your site is aged that generally you will rank well in Yahoo too. Bing is on it’s own little planet when it comes to ranking your website high. I have little idea on their formulaic structure.
The beauty of the Hubpages scheme as opposed to Ezine and other article directories is they pay you 60% of the impressions you get. In other words, they’re sharing revenue with you so you make money even while you’re whoring out their links. Ca-Ching! They’re free too so it’s basically a win-win. You move your 100% revenue sharing impression blog up in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page) while established Hubpages helps you put together some extra income from their aged and already search engine optimized website. If your blog is new, you’re going to have to spend a little time just trying to earn your stripes with Google so this is highly beneficial.
This is just about Hubpages and your 2 blogs. Imagine if you threw social bookmarking, more linking, and more blog sites into the picture. We’re talking crazy money! We make money man! (from 50 cent song). Anyways, if your blog just makes 30 cents a day, that’s $100 a year on autopilot after you get done building them up – and this is for as long as the blog stays relevants so at least several years – and quite possibly even longer. Who knows what the future will hold, but in the mean time, you can tally up a hell of a lot of cash. Do it!
A lot of times, your successful blogs will make $1 or maybe $2 a day. This equates to $365 to $730 a year. Imagine this spread out over 10 or so websites. Come on, you got to get in the game and start blogging now. It’s too lucrative for you to wait until everyone else is blogging. Sign up to write for Hubpages now. Earn that Google money.
